Can't we do something about the search function that can't search for anything below 4 letters? We can't search for ICO, SD Gundam, hell, we can't even search for "S Gundam" and many short lettered stuffs at all.

The search function definitely needs some tweaking. |

Been trying to figure this out for quite some time now. I'm starting to think it takes advanced scripting skills to tweak this shit because I'm too dumb to figure it out ~_~

See that's the funny part. I didn't change anything, or touch anything with regards to the search function. Do not mess with stuff you don't understand, as what I always believe, so I didn't do anything with the script and just kept on searching.

Invision. Planning to change but I'm thinking to just upgrade, I hate redoing an entire board, especially on existing databases and shit (mySQL fuck me)

On another forum we had the same issue with the search function. But once we upgraded from Invision to the Zeta boards system it all fixed itself.
And all it did was convert. We kept all threads, accounts, posts, etc. |

Maybe Invision boards have a add-on feature for tweaking board searches. Also if you planning to jump from one board software to another there are some that allow you to make the change without too much disruption, off the top of my head I think MyBB is like that.
So that should be a few options for you Daba. |

I was completely against it myself at 1st if only because I didn't want to risk us losing over 6 years of our past in case Zetaboards turned out to be a failure. And it was when they 1st came out. Loss of data, boards becoming almost unable, etc. Mostly everyone refused so we didn't due it due to those reasons. but the subject came up like 3 years later (a few months ago, back in the end of July) and we had a vote and the majority wanted it so I did the conversion. after we converted though, it for the most part worked out for the better, and everything went smoother. And there's really nothing to it. We just hit the convert button in the admin Control panel, and within 20 minutes or so everything was done automatically. All our threads, posts, accounts, stats, forums/sub forums, even all of our old personal messages were intact and transferred over. Also coding was a lot easier since things for groups and I think CSS and such were now more easily done with simpler HTML instead of that more annoying coding. Which was overall good because I didn't want to reupload all the pips, icons, etc and have to remake all those groups again. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/doh.gif) (IMG:http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/6631/asdcopyq.jpg) The one thing that doesn't carry over however is the CSS from the original system, so that would have to be reinstalled using the newer coding. But that didn't seem to be a problem for our webmaster. He had it up in like an hour or two. There's also the invision/zeta boards skin site. |

Anyway, Daba, can you increase the board natural resolution?
The board seems to shrink (horizontally) in my 1600x900 res. |

I don't think there's a setting for that. People have asked me about that before, as I already checked the settings and I don't see any "natural resolution" and stuff. If you are basing it on the banner...

Axel told me this board res is around 1024x768, I'm not exactly sure but it looks that way.
It's not a big deal but yeah, it will be better if we can stretch the board out more to fill out the blank parts. |
