Whoa, thought something was wrong with my eyes there for a second. This will take some getting used to, but it might be alright. I think it was the collapsible menu that really threw me.

For the most part I like it. Especially the use of gradiants on everything. The only 2 things I miss are the seperation between our data and the posting area, and our HUD in the top right that told us if we had any new messages and such. =/
EDIT: Also the malfunctioning banner.

Woot. I got offline for a few hours and Tune the World happens. Major difference, reminds me of the intermission menu changes from older to newer SRWs, though I'm alright with it.

Liking the new look! Thanks Daba! It'll take some getting used to but that's okay.
Collapsible menu is no doubt my favorite change in my 2 minutes of knowing the new look.

Am I the only one with a non-functioning collapsible menu?
The new layout is find s'long as all the minor-kinks get smoothed out, its the New Year afterall.

Oh noes! Most likely this a problem on my end, but I'm wondering if anyone else has trouble with this thanks to the new look.
Whilst using Firefox, the forum pages don't show up anymore after certain actions (like posting, changing e-mail preferences, etc. ). Works fine after reloading the page, but I'm not sure why it doesn't show the page in the first place. Could just be my settings in Firefox, but I wanted to check and make sure no one else has this problem.
Still works fine on IE though, so it may just be my settings. (=C)K
Edit: The hell, double post!?

Finally got used to it. And now I actually like the shrunken banner more than how it used to be XD

After further investigation (basically just opening the site in IE), it seems the reason that my menu won't collapse properly is entirely a Firefox thing. So not only do I have to miss out on all the flashy colored fonts on the man page, I have to live with 1/6th of screen gone...

It'll be a while before I get used to the whole widescreen thing, but I guess it can't be that bad.

For all FF users, check your options in the advanced tab. After unchecking "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page" everything worked just fine for me.

I'm using FF 3.0.5 and everything is working fine (except maybe the collapsable menu), it was a bit of a shock to wake to the new look but I have a love/hate relationship with it. I like the gradients and colours but not the collapsible menu on the left (is it suppose to disappear when I click collapse because the bar remains but the text disappears).

No, that's the error some of us have been encountering. The entire left menu is supposed to disappear when you click on "Collapse Menu" (try it out using IE).

Oh thanks, I see the problem, really the left hand menu is the only thing I don't like about this skin but at least this problem isn't a big hindrance to anyone while the kinks are being worked out.

At first I thought it's the standard design after the account gets validated, silly me.
Looks very nice, I like the smaller logo, the new menu and overall more, how could I put it, informative look, I guess. Thank you very much, I think the new layout's really better than the previous one.
In Opera, the "Collapse Menu" link also removes the text without actually removing the sidebar.
Daba Myroad
Jan 2 2009, 07:56 PM
The collapse menu doesn't remove the sidebar. It leaves a margin. This will be our new skin and I'll be constantly adding stuff in the sidebar like SRWG shop links and other relevant bullshit. I'll be slowly removing some of the images and replacing them too.

You mean the entire left menu disappeared for you including the margin, kamina? Anyway, I just reinstalled my Firefox a few days ago, so that's not the problem. I kept my old profile, though, so it might be one of my add-ons or something similar.

I like it, but I have only two small requests... Couldn't we make the banner bigger, or at least central? Also, wouldn't it be wiser to make the new posts icon that are next to each subforum a little more colourful or easier to see? White on gray isn't much of a contrast.
